Welcome to our Academic Program. The Centre offers rigorous academic programs based on current research, theory and practice. Academic study is available, leading to the progressive awards of Certificate, Diploma or Master on either Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism (MPICT) or International Security Studies (MISS). All academic programs are available on campus and via distance education.

All
of the Centre’s course work academic programs are available
in a range of flexible learning modes (on-campus lectures / workshops
/ seminars, e-learning, flexible entry / attendance times / part-time
and full-time).
Postgraduate Certificate in Research Methods (PICT)
The PGCRM (PICT) is designed to prepare students for research in Policing, Intelligence & Counter Terrorism and Security Studies. It is an essential prerequisite for students who wish to commence an MPhil or PhD and have not previously completed a substantial research project.
Specific minimum requirements:
- Core of 8 credit points from either PICT809 or both PICT810 and PICT811 or either ISS809 or both ISS810 and ISS811
- Either PICT812 or ISS812 or, if approved,
- One of either PICT812, PICT801, PICT802, PICT804, PICT806, PICT816, ISS801, ISS802, ISS803, ISS804, ISS806, ISS808 or ISS816
